My name is Nico Klaassen. I’m 24 years old and graduated at the Utrecht School of Arts with a Bachelor in Arts & Technology, focussing on 3D Animation & VFX.
I would consider myself a Technical 3D Artist due to my broad range of skills. Ranging from modelling to rigging and scripting, and everything in between. Should I not know how to solve a certain production problem, I’ll dive right in, explore the possibilities and come up with a solution.
This approach has led to a broad skillset enabling me to participate in every phase of production. All the way from thinking up a concept and creating a storyboard to working in post-production and delivering the final product. Currently I’m working on expanding and sharpening my Unity3D skills in order to work on Virtual Reality projects.
If you are interested in knowing more and would like to get in contact with me, please do!
See you in the metaverse!

Internship | Technical Direction
During my time as a student at the HKU I worked as an intern at Colorbleed Studios. It gave me the oppertunity to learn a lot about technical direction, and it was at that time I got into coding with Python while learning from Colorbleed’s TD. At Colorbleed I worked at several really interesting projects, including:
This experience has opened up the way to expand my technical skills, and has led to learning the Maya API (Python / C++) and currently C# in combination with Unity3D.
09/2011 – 07/2015
As a student at the HKU I was in the position to regularly help out at the receptiondesk. The experience helped boost my communication and representational skills by having contact with a lot of people and addressing their questions.

In-store computer and peripheral sales
At Staples (back then Staples Office Centre) I entered as a regular merchandiser and mail sorter. Soon after, due to my affinity for computers and related hardware, I was also tasked with helping and selling customers computers and related peripherals. This also led to being involved with the Apple Online Sales Training, where the company offered me the oppertunity to expand my knowledge. At that time I gained the Apple Product Professional certificate for 2010-2011.
